Born and raised on a farm in Saskatchewan, Darren Nelson moved to Drayton Valley in 1989 to start a career as a ticketed welder. After a diverse career that included a machine shop apprenticeship and many years on pipeline and facility crews, Darren founded Newforce in 2006. Darren’s vision was to create an oilfield construction company with a dual emphasis on its people and a strong foundation of owned heavy equipment to serve its customers more efficiently. Darren believes that having the right people in a business makes the critical difference for success.
Darren has been a partner in multiple businesses over the years, utilizing his valuable experience to help his investments succeed. As President and Owner of Newforce, Darren’s leadership has been characterized by growth and adaptability to ever-changing industry standards and competition.
Roddy Adam is an accomplished Pipeline Construction Project Coordinator with over 20 years’ experience overseeing complex pipeline projects. His expertise encompasses the full lifecycle of pipeline construction, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
Roddy is adept at coordinating cross-functional teams to maximize project execution efficiency while maintaining high safety standards and optimal customer experience.
His strong technical background, coupled with astute problem-solving skills, has helped facilitate successful completion of many projects by Newforce Energy.
Roddy joined Newforce Energy as a field superintendent in 2018 and transitioned to the office as Project Coordinator in 2021. Prior to his time at Newforce, Roddy held diverse roles in oilfield construction including as site inspector for various Oil & Gas Producers, broadening his expertise and giving him the ability to see issues from multiple angles.
Since joining Newforce as CFO in 2018, Eric has been relentlessly driven to provide value to the company in whatever capacity is needed. While overseeing the finance and accounting aspects of the business, Eric provides strategic advice to Newforce’s management team and provides integral assistance with project bidding, project analysis, Sales, IT, HR, and a variety of other corporate needs.
Aside from work, Eric is a dedicated father raising two boys active in sports and nature. Eric is devoted to personal wellness, and passionate about investment and financial statement analysis.
Darcy Elder is a highly accomplished professional with 30+ years of experience in sales and business development. In his position as Field Sales / Indigenous Relations, Darcy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Throughout his career, Darcy has consistently demonstrated his exceptional sales skills, consistently exceeded targets and delivered exceptional results. He is known for his strategic thinking, persuasive communication, and ability to build long-lasting client relationships. Darcy’s strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism have earned him the respect and trust of both clients and colleagues.
Since joining Newforce in September 2022, Darcy has played a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and fostering strong relationships with Indigenous communities.
Darcy’s passion for Indigenous relations is evident in his commitment to building meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities for collaboration. He recognizes the importance of engaging with Indigenous communities and respects their unique cultural perspectives and values. Darcy works closely with Indigenous stakeholders to develop mutually beneficial relationships, ensuring that Newforce Energy Services operates in a socially responsible and sustainable manner.
Outside of work, Darcy is an active member of his community and volunteers his time to support local initiatives. He is passionate about giving back and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
